I come from a long line of Christmas over-doers, and I married Frosty the Snowman. More is better was our holiday motto.

When fear is holding things together, it gets to decide when they fall apart. And it always will — because fear is never satisfied.

God has a funny sense of timing. I'm telling you this as a friend, so you're not caught off guard the way I always am. Puppy class was not an exception.

Like the disciples frantically bailing water, I’m over here with my laundry schedules and breathing exercises trying hard to manage the storm myself instead of trusting that I might not actually die.

The canisters worked great for some things (spaghetti) but not for others (snacks). And those distracting, messy packages? It turns out they sometimes have directions I need.

What's my opinion? I kept asking myself that question. My opinion is that 100 sheep is a lot. So, how would this guy know that ONE of them went missing?

The size of my tumor and a couple of other things were the determining factors for post-surgery treatment. I'm well aware every time I go in that this is not the case for many of the people who are sitting next to me.

I was weirdly calm, even proud of myself for not screaming or overturning medical thingamabobs and running down the hall in the crappy, threadbare gown.
